Disassembly of the 2240
Taking the Crosman 2240 apart is a pretty simple procedure, which will be illustrated in the following few paragraphs. The gun comes packaged in a formed plastic cover which contains the gun, owner’s manual, and a “key” for the plastic trigger lock.

FIG 1

Slit the package and pull the gun out of its packing, then wipe it off and get your tools together for the break down. You will need a couple of Allen wrenches and a flat head screw driver. It’s also a good idea to work on a flat clean surface that is well lighted so if you drop any parts, or they go shooting out as you break down the gun ….. they can be found again.

Fig 2

I typically start by removing the grips. These plastic components are held in place by a 3/8ths flat head machine screw on either side of the gun. Pulling the grips off gives access to the trigger mechanism, and I typically like to replace these cheap stock grips anyways.
