Fig 6 With the barrel band and two receiver screws removed the barrel and receiver will lift right off of the gun. If you haven’t removed the front sight it will be necessary to jiggle the gun around a bit to get it to separate. Fig 7 Be careful when you lift the receiver off the tube, as there is a small metal conduit that connects the transfer port from the tube to the receiver. If the receiver is simply jerked off the tube, this piece will go flying! Fig 8 The metal conduit can be lifted right out of the port. When customizing the 2240, I’ll invariably open up the transfer port while doing the valve and replace the metal conduit with one made out of a piece of appropriately sized plastic tubing. |
