I took my newly camo'd .25 caliber Benjamin Marauder out for a squirrel hunt on the first day of fall. Still a lot of leaves on the trees, but at least things are cooling down.
|The Daystate Huntsman Classic
I take this great field rifle out on an early winter squirrel hunt in the Midwestern woods! This rifle lives up to it"Classic" designation, having every attribute equired in a classic design!
|The Evanix Conquest .357
I'd been doing some testing on a pre-released gun for a few months, and just received one of the production guns to start working up. So far I'm plinking and doing some loose target shooting, and the gun seems to have been worth the wait!
|A moderately powerful, fast action semi-auto rifle with a seven shot magazine is something that will have predator hunters take notice!|
|This page contains many of the articles from my 2012 hunting season. I will revisit several of these topics in the coming year as I get more range time and more hunting time in with the various guns. A lot happened this year, I had the opportunity to hunt with my airguns in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Texas, South Dakota, and Kansas for everything from hogs, to predators, prairie dogs, jackrabbits and cotytontails, squirrels, beaver, crows, pigeons, rockchuck and turkey,
The guns I shot were from all over the world, I spent a great deal of time with some great British, German, and Swedish guns ..... and always used the ever impressive family of guns coming out of korea. The home teams were not asleep at the wheel either, with the mainstream US manufacturers holding there own, and the boutique builders leading the way on the big bore front.
I got to the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, and manages to shoot in my first bench rest competition as well .... It was a very good year to be an airgunner!
Missouri Deer Hunt
Getting down for the second airgun season in Missouri, I had a short trip, but a great one! The 909s was hitting hard!

|The AirArm S410 FAC
I headed down to Texas last month for a predator hunt, but arrived to find temperatures in the low hundreds and a lot of wind. Long story short, after two nights of aggressive calling no luck on yotes or bobcats. But in the daylight hours .... jackrabbits and prairie dogs everywhere!
|The Twinmaster Airhunter Carbine and Rifle models
I have been using these new guns from Rohm GmbH for several weeks and have been given clearance to publish my initial results on these pre-release guns. They represent a couple of the more interesting hunting arms to come down the pipeline in some time. I'll be discussing the guns specifications, performance results on the bench, and how they hunted in the field.
|The Evanix Renegade
I have always liked the AR6 rifle, and have had excellent results hunting small game with it. Recently I received the Pistol, Take-Down, and carbine versions of the AR6, all based on the same action. After spending time with these guns on the range to familiarize myself with them, I brought them into the woods to hunt squirrel and rabbit. My first report here will focus on the pistol.
|A New Custom Stock!!
The new James Linthicum C1 style custom stock for the Crosman Discovery! I have some initial observations and will continue building this review page over time.
|Jim and Randy head out in pursuit of whitetail deer in central Kentucky with the Quackenbush .50 caliber muzzle loading PCP air rifle.|
|Hawke MapPro and Air Max Scopes
I'v had an opportunity to use a couple excellent scopes from Hawke, one of the leaders in airgunning optics manufacture. The clarity and contrast offered are impressive, but what I think stands apart from other products is t.he MAP reticle and the BRC ballistics program that works en concert
|I pulled some of my favorite posts from the last several years, that followed my long time hobby as it evolved into a passion! I've meet some great guys along the way, gun makers, hunters, hobbyist, and industry people, that have made the trip that much better. From my early experiences with Beeman, to meeting up with Dennis Quackenbush, the guys that provided the first guns to get me thinking about what a gun could do in the field. Then I meet Randy Mitchell and Eric Henderson, guys that I've hunted on and off with for almost a decade, and more recently with Brian Beck and Kip Perow, I gotten to hunt with some great sportsman. Some, like our friend Mark Bolson, are no longer with us. The I've gotten to meet and talk to some great writers in and out of airgunning; Tom Jue and Robert Hamilton were the ones that got me thinking about writing up my experiences, my editors at Predator Xtreme Bob Robb and Ralph Lermeyer that have helped me develop my meager skills. Pulling this section together was a walk down memory lane!|
